Mooney family
« on: Tuesday 22 December 20 19:04 GMT (UK) »
Are their any members of the Mooney family still in Dunbarton. Some family moved to Ireland. I am desperate to find isabella born 1893, who married in 1916 but where is she buried?

Hi Tony

Is this her marriage?

Isabella A Moonie and John Robertson Thom married 1916 in Dunfermline

Can't easily see a death for her in Scotland on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

There is a family tree on Ancestry which gives husband's death details as:

Death of Husband John Robertson Thom(1889–1965)
23 Mar 1965 • Winnipeg Manitoba Canada

There is this www.findagrave.com/memorial/123088764/john-r-thom

No mention of wife's details so far  :-\

Have you looked at the marriage cert from 1916 to confirm the details on parents' etc?

Carole, I think there is another John Robertson Thom who married in Glasgow 1912. He shows in family trees.

Monica and Carol, my apologies but I should have said that she moved to Ireland and married James Cameron in 1916 in Drogheda, Ireland. Apart from two children who died in infancy their only son was Alan b. 1921. Alan was adopted and nobody knows where his parents died, though some say they died young.

Ahhh  ::) completely off on the wrong tangent!

What searches have you made in Ireland? Likely she would have died there? Is there any info on what age Alan was adopted so that you can try to narrow down possible window for death? Where was Alan born?

So are you saying that Isabella was born in Scotland but moved at some point to Ireland?

In 1901 there were 56 entries for the surname Mooney in Dunbarton so how do we know which "Mooney" family Isabella belonged to?

No info in your post apart from her name & birthyear

If you are trying to find Isabella's grave etc - wouldn't that be in Ireland?

I think this might be her in Ireland in 1901 with her family www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Louth/Westgate__Drogheda_Town/Fair_Street/1567600/

Son Alan born in Louth in 1921?
