Yes indeed. The unanswered questions are why was Alan raised by an aunt in Derry (his parents must have seperated) and if they died it was between 1925 and 1945. Only one piece of evidence exists and that is a photograph of alan age 6 (1927) and on the back it says 'to daddy'- so perhaps mum had passed.

When they married James was living in a boarding house in Capel Street, Dublin and Isabella in Palace Street, Drogheda town.

Alan never spoke about his parents at all.
