Rank or profession
« on: Saturday 26 December 20 23:24 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

Having terrible trouble getting further on my family tree and I bought this marriage certificate but can't read the rank or profession for the couple or fathers, something roller and something weaver? Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Hello lostrich,

Welcome to RootsChat

Are you able to crop your image down a little to the part you wish to study?

Regards

Sarah

Welcome to Rootschat Lostrich  :)

If you are finding it difficult to load an image then perhaps you would like to provide us with the names of the couple and where and when they married.

Someone may be able to find the image online and tell you what you wish to know.

I'm guessing from your mention of roller and weaver that they married in the 1800's?

Thank you so much.

I have one more if it isn't cheeky to ask?

I think it says (London) National British subject? it's from an 1891 census. If correct, does anyone know why it would say this?

It's confusing me and I can't seem to get any further back than his father's name (John Slater) that I got from a marriage certificate and certainly can't find any more information on him (Richard Slater)

Thanks
