Roobarb, love the little dog on Doc Martin too, I heard somewhere Martin Clunes actually loves dogs, unlike the doc.  This season we’ve almost finished with, I think the dog had changed from the previous one, he looks a bit bigger, but just as lovable.
Caroline, Wasaga Beach is a few hours from here, north of Toronto, it is between Lake Huron and Lake Ontario, definitely same climate, probably more snowfall.  Your husband’s puzzle sounds like it would challenge me, but will probably make a striking picture. 

On the news tonight it said the “UK variant” of COVID has turned up in Canada - 4 cases.  All related to travel from the UK.

H and I were married at Oldway Mansion, but it has been left empty for so long now it is in grave danger of being past redemption. A huge grant was secured for the work, but the council spent a lot of the money on other things.

I do like Elizabeth George books, though they can be lengthy to plough through.

Thanks MH - the dahlia tree looks lovely specially flowering at this time of year too.
I know two other people who would enjoy assembling the timber kits too.... my grandsons... they’re very into that sort of thing...
T’s present this year was a solar hydraulic construction kit... we got to see the first bit yesterday that he held under one if their large kitchen lamps and it moved with the aid of the light... the closer he put it the faster it moved! Very clever these things!

Yes, this jigsaw is certainly giving him some angst! The next two he’s got don’t look much better either... keeps him out of trouble though 😂
