How to obtain a death certificate in Carlsbad, Bohemia
« on: Sunday 27 December 20 13:02 GMT (UK) »
John Joseph Jones died in Carlsbad, Bohemia on August 5th, 1888. His body was returned to Abberley, Worcestershire where he was buried in the family vault. How to I get a copy of his death certificate so that I can ascertain the cause of death?

Hi

Death/Burial Records of Carlsbad, Bohemia can be found on portafontium.
https://www.portafontium.eu/?language=de
https://www.portafontium.eu/contents/register

There are only church records because civil records didn't exist there back then.

Here is it, on page 50:

cause of death: Gallensteinleiden

Hello Svenja
Many thanks for your prompt reply I really do appreciate it. I have been researching the history of Abberley Hall for almost fifteen years and John Joseph Jones was a very prominent Lord of the Manor albeit for only eight years.
Best wishes
