Mary Ann married to joseph Staincliffe c1855 Leeds
« on: Monday 28 December 20 14:35 GMT (UK) »
I have Beatrice Staincliffe (born Derby 1867) living with her parents in Derby: Joseph staincliffe b1831 Leeds and Mary Ann b1830 Leeds. Their first child, George, was born in 1855 in Leeds, as were the next few. Then they move to Derby.
According to GRO Beatrice's mother’s maiden name was Ratcliff.
I can’t find a marriage between the parents at all ... unless Mary Ann was a widow maybe?
Bit of a stumbling block. Any help appreciated. Doing this tree for a friend and have already sent off for a few certificates. Hoping not to this time  :o
Thanks

Leeds Registration District - June quarter 1853 - Joseph Staincliffe and Mary Ann Ratcliffe appear on the same page.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Did Beatrice have other siblings?

If so we can check their birth registrations to see if all had the same mothers maiden name.

Ooh that’s amazzing! Thank you!
Where did you come across the marriage? I’m using ancestry and couldn’t see it?
