Some good founding names.  Drysdale immediately brings sheep breeding to mind, and DODD; the Rev. DODD of St Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Melville, Hamilton after WWII, and then Chaplan at Waikato Hospital.

Just me, as always too many things on the go at once, and poor a proof reading my own copy.

As long as I don't stop to read, what I'm photographing, it does not take long. Biggest issue is paperclipping to a firm sheet [I purloin a laminated A3 sheet of library instructions] so as to ease the wrinkles, and paper folds. Once I have a full camera of about 70 photos, it then takes a few minutes to down load, on to a laptop/memory stick, before taking another set of photos.

Land valuations could be very interesting. Have you tried Retrolenz to see if there is an aerial shot of the property in that time frame?

Hi Alan,

I have not come across a Land Valuation document as yet so will be interested to see what is in it.

I have no idea as to where the property was, so can't search for an aerial shot in the meantime.

6 acres at I think 55 Russel road Manurewa between kerrydale and Jutland roads, as per plan.  But 1950 address shows as 69 Russel road, so presumably some revised street numbering since.

Photos to come next week when home again, as will have to sort today's research photos taken.

PS. Oops on further looking at plan which does not show Kerrydale Road but only Jutland road, I now believe  69 will still be correct because 69 Russel Road has an angled frontage at that point, it's left boundary.

Images of land plan, and report forwarded by email.

Apraiser's report did not place a value on the land, but rather gave the opinion that two cows, and a few hens, on six acres did not, a farm make.
