Sorry for taking so long to reply to you Rosinish I have written to all these cemeteries which you have

suggested . Hopefully I will hear back from them .

Yes I think this is James as they lived in Fife most of their married life.

All those cemeteries are managed by Fife Council Bereavement Services.

Have you tried using the enquiry form at https://www.fife.gov.uk/kb/docs/articles/community-life2/bereavement-services (scroll down to the section on Family History Enquiries) instead of writing letters? If you do this, make sure that you keep a copy of the form, with the date you sent it.

If you have written more than one letter to Fife Bereavement Services (before 2020) and never received any replies, I suggest writing to Steve Grimmond, Chief Executive, Fife Council, Fife House, Glenrothes KY7 5LT, enclosing copies of the letters you sent, and asking when you can expect a reply to those letters.

If that doesn't work (make sure to allow plenty of time for a reply because things are very difficult because of Covid-19) you could contact the Fife Free Press https://www.fifetoday.co.uk/ asking if any of their readers can answer your question, and telling them all about your unsuccessful attempts to get information from Fife Council Bereavement Services.

If none of that works, and depending on how fed up you get, you could post something on Fife Council's Facebook or Twitter pages. Or contact the Council Leader - see https://publications.fifedirect.org.uk/c64_Councillors_Poster_Dec2019.pdf

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
