When did his children marry?

Is he recorded as being still alive on their marriage records?

So when he got married in 1867 James said that his father was James McClay Sandford, and in 1851 and 1861 he was in the household of John Sandford. The 1851 doesn't state a relationship, but the 1861 says that James was the son of John Sandford. So at least one of these records has to be wrong.

What evidence is there that the son of James (solicitor), who married Margaret Archer in 1867, was the one who was in the 1861 census in Newcastle, aged 17, with father John (weaver) and in 1851 with John (gardener)? Was he lying, and if so why? Or are these two entirely different James Sandfords?

In 1881 the comedian James SANDFORD has POB as Newcastle on Tyne is aged 33 so his DOB would be about 1848, so the James aged 17 (DOB 1844) in 1861 born Scotland might not be the same one.

NO birth records GRO 2004 for James Sandford c1844 Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I have not found him Scotland.
I believe some of the information given by James Sandford ( Census ) we untrue relating to his age. My search continues
