Are they illegitimate?

Not too sure is this is the right place for this query, do let me know if not.

I think they are illegitimate but wanted to double check just in case. I saw that only the mothers name was on the baptism so I immediately thought the child was illegitimate but then what looks like the word 'illegitimate' has been crossed out? Might be another word? Anyone has seen this before?

Does look as if they are illegitimate, but I'm not sure that the crossed out word says that, there's no "t" near the end of the word.  Surely if it was  that would be after the mother's full name, not after her first name? It looks to me as if he made a mistake with a name and crossed it out as there are other children with just mothers.

Most likely right, thank you. Think I've found two other daughters to Ann with no father listed as well.

I think the crossed out word looks like "Bateman" --the surname of the next entry below.
Possibly he was copying entries from elsewhere and slipped a line.

I agree. Definitely Bateman. Probably a copying error.
