Lancashire BMD has an opinion.

LAYCOCK *   William   DALMOR   Amy   1872   Oldham Register Office or Registrar Attended   Lancashire   Oldham   RM/25/84
LAYCOCK *   William   DEDALMOR   Amy   1872   Oldham Register Office or Registrar Attended   Lancashire   Oldham   RM/25/84
LAYCOCK *   William   SUTCLIFFE   Amy   1872   Oldham Register Office or Registrar Attended   Lancashire   Oldham   RM/25/84

I don't think they can be too far off-the-mark

1871 census - also born "on the sea" - and in prison in Cheetham - married, aged 26.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Many thanks, All  :)

This is such an odd one for me. Until now, I've not come across a father's name on a marriage certificate without a given/first name. Not sure what the "De" bit represents... Is it part of the surname, part of a given name, a title, an abbreviation, or something else? And the born at sea bit really doesn't help  :-\

Interestingly, I've found Amy on the 1871 census in Cheetham Prison.

Not that I've found. It looks like Amy died in 1892. On the 81 and 91 census, William and Amy don't have any children in their household.
