Thomas Houghton caballero
« on: Thursday 31 December 20 14:42 GMT (UK) »
Thomas Houghton is a bit of a mystery in my family tree. My brother gathered together all the family history available back in the 1990s, bless him, and Thomas Houghton is our 3xgreat-grandfather, dates 1816-1867.
But later this funeral card turned up for another Thomas Houghton, dates 1851-1885. I've not been able to make a connection between them. A date for the photo would at least establish which one he is! and a clean-up would be brilliant.

That is greatly improved, thank you Pat. I'm still not that impressed with having him for an ancestor, mind....

On a technical note, is it ok to share the cleaned up versions with family / print them out for domestic display etc.? It says not to without without your permission, does that just cover commercial use, or personal use as well? Thanks, and Happy New Year  :)

Regarding using the restores, the way I understand it is you don't need permission for personal use and probably not for other uses but it is a good idea to check with restorers when it is for other than personal use - explaining what sort of other use it is. Usually we say, that's fine. When it is used outside the family it is a nice gesture to add to any label on it that it "was kindly restored by so-and-so on Rootschat".

Anyway, here's my try.

Peter

Many many thanks, Carol, Pat and Peter, for welcoming me - what an amazing site! - and for your advice and restorations.
