Patrick Dunne 19328, 4314
« on: Friday 01 January 21 15:48 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone add to what information I have please.
Patrick Dunne Royal Irish Fusiliers.
I have looked at MIC/Pension records and have found 5 entries for Patrick Dunne.
First MIC for 19328 RIF showing WW1 trio, and mentions " see 4314 Leins Regt",
Second MIC showing BWM and Vict medal to 19328 Leins Regt.
Third record is P Dunne. 19328 RIF showing enlistment of 1915 to 1919
Forth record is a card with Irish Fus 19328 and Lenister Regt 4314 also SAG 3812(not sure what this means).
Fifth record looks like a pensions card to Patrick Dunne 19328 Royal Irish Regt very little info except for a lot of dates on left hand side, assume its to do with communications to him.
If possible , can anyone answer the following?

Is this all the same soldier?
Has he been issued with two sets of medals ?
Does a service record exist?
Is there anything for Patrick Dunne 4314 Lenister Regt that I have not found?
Was he awarded a SWB?

As usual any additions would be greatfully received

There is another record (Findmypast) for 4314 P Dunn (sic) 1st Leinsters in hospital at 28 General Hospital Salonika in Jan/Feb 1916.  That name/number does not appear on medal rolls.

Of the medal cards that come up for Dunne 19328, this one appears to be a SWB listing:

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D3415445.

The note on another card about re-stamping would suggest a post-issue sorting out of which regiment was to go on his medal and that he went to Salonika with the Leinsters, transferring some time later.

What is clear is that there is at least one c**k up in his records that did get sorted later and that all the records are for the same man.

Hi Max, Thanks for that reply, just for reference: I found 1 card on Fold 3,the pensions bit of Ancestry, it is just a card, hand written and has his name and references to both the Irish Fus.19328 and Leinister Reg.  date 13/3/19.  number 4314. I think it says he is a Cpl.
There is a stamp underneath with  a Chelsea reference number of MNC3955 or 6, as well as a reference of 13/MD/2823, not sure what any of the last sentence means
