*  This name is speculative.  It begins with either I or J and ends _ens, but with a tenement name it's difficult to work out how to attribute the six minims (vertical strokes) in between.

Again, thank you hd86. I did have some of the words you deciphered but they didn't make sense to me, such as "weynaldes". I couldn't find that word anywhere. Am I right in thinking Smithshop was a blacksmith's place of work, or just a surname of Richard ?

It's hard to be certain with these local names for fields and tenements.  At some time they had reason to call it by that name, and it feels likely that it was because Richard the Smith's workshop was there.

However that could have been 300 years earlier.
