Batchelor Stacey
« on: Saturday 02 January 21 15:24 GMT (UK) »
I have always been puzzled when my mother told me that the lady in several family pictures was named Daisy lived in the Midlands and was a relation and possibly a cousin of Aldus Stacey born Street 1882. My family have lived in and around the Street area of Somerset and therefore I thought it unlikely that Daisy was related.
It appears that a Daisy H Stacey was born in Leamington around 1883, who married a Charles (Ernest?) Batchelor in 1915 and who I believe lived in Warwick. On a Christmas card I have an address from a Batchelor living in Birmingham and another card signed by Ada who I believe was Daisy's sister.
With a surname of Stacey it would appear to tie up but a search of the census gives Daisy's father as Albert born in Dorset around 1844. I can't find a connection but shoemaking was the main industry in Street. Any help would be great as it has been a puzzle. Thanks Mark

Is that the correct marriage for Daisy or perhaps the wrong Daisy only

Marriage 24 Jun 1908 Warwick

Frank Herbert Willcox to

Daisy Stacey 25 spinster father Albert Edward Stacey salesman

Have you got details of the 1915 marriage that has the Batchelor link?

Stacey with Batchelor would hopefully connect my Stacey family and my Aldus Stacey's father was a clicker (shoe job) so possible Albert Stacey may be connected if I can find a Somerset link.

Aldus was son of Alfred whose father was John mother Eliza

This Frederick father of Daisy was son of John mother Eliza

Baptism for Frederick 31 Dec 1848 Street Somerset

So I think it all pans out but please check and see what you think.

You had the right marriage but the wrong birth for Daisy.
