Biggles, judging by the title of the thread, you haven't yet changed your 2020 calendar to 2021. Or are you going back to old-style calendar when a new year began on 25th March? We surely don't want to extend 2020 by a quarter. On the other hand, the current situation seems to be an extension of 2020.

Yes, to test whether the new variant it is any more infectious than the old one. Normal practice.
