Some trees on Ancestry have Diana born in Ireland, which could be true if the regiment was in Athlone in 1850.

Henry died in Feb 1871 and is buried in Buckland Dover. Found a Henry in the Maidstone barracks in 1841 which could be him. Also since found photo of his headstone on Findagrave which mentions his wife, who died at Newbridge in Ireland.

From image of marriage on FamilySearch for Henry Jennings and Diana Hornsey at St Nicholas Brighton in Feb 1843 her father listed as Thomas. They are in Cullumpton, Devon in 1841, Diana born Ireland.

The Genealogy Ireland site is very good but PRs are mainly RC not Protestant. Did find the birth of Louisa Charlotte daughter of Frederick Moore and Diana Jennings in 1880 at Newbridge. Could have been with her family or his regiment was there, next door to Curragh Camp.

Found Thomas Hornsey's military records on FindMyPast. He was in the army for 23 years, 40th Regiment of Foot.

Also found his marriage in Ireland in Dec 1810 to a Catherine HOGAN, as well as a baptism for a son Thomas in Jan 1813.

The British and Overseas Army Births and Baptisms has a baptism for a Diana Hornsey at Ennis, Ireland in 1821 which would appear to be the right one. Are the actual registers for these available on line anywhere or do you have to purchase things through the GRO.
