Some thoughts ....
Apart from the limited info on the d.c. there can often be information held by the funeral director that could be followed up ....
- who paid for the funeral?
- how are they connected to Frederic?
- What information is in funeral directors file about either Frederic or his family or the person/organisation who paid the funeral expenses
- Mt ISA council ... could they jstill have employee records back that far? If So what info including .... a) date of birth, b) contact details for "next of kin" c) past employment history d) name and address of any referees that he had nominated when applying for work
And .... perhaps a snail mail letter to the current Member of federal parliament representing the federal seat of Kennedy .... asking for his help in finding how Frederic arrived in Australia. (Immigration being a federal government responsibility) ... This particular politician is a bit of a colourful figure, an independent, with decades of experience in both state and federal parliaments.
At all steps in Australia when following up at this depth, people may ask "why do you want to know" .... and often they make only a small token effort if you explain its for family history.... in my experience, a better response is simply:
I am seeking information about my father and his origins as I need (avoid using 'want') to follow up to glean my / any medical history for myself, my siblings and our children.
