No, it's a record from No 2 General Hospital. I would think this is the same item that Forces War Records have.

The "Wounds Column" reads "Wrist L, VIII-1".

Under the Army Wound Classification System of Roman Numerals VIII-1 = Gunshot wound of the upper extremities. Simple flesh contusion or wound.

As I said he was in Number 2 General Hospital which was at Le Havre - but I see from your original post that you knew that already. Only 2% of WW1 army medical records survive.

No guarantee he remained "local" after reaching Southampton. A newspaper report about the same time records the passage home of one wounded soldier as -
" ... taken by the Red Cross train to Rouen, where he remained 2 days, then to Havre and subsequently transferred by hospital ship to Southampton. From the ship he was conveyed to the Red Cross train to Boscombe ...".

After transferring to the Lanfranc Albert's trail runs cold.

As you say is trail is cold from Southampton - we have a postcard from him on his arrival at convalesence  hospital Ampton Hall, Suffolk but he said nothing of where he was prior to that.

Can you read the datemark on the card? How long between being treated Le Havre (arrive 18 Sep 1916,  Quai Ward, No 2 Gen Hosp; transfer out same day) and reaching Ampton Hall?

I think his wound would be described as "slight wound" so I wondered if he was accessed and then shipped out very quickly from Southampton to Ampton?
He was honourably discharged 18th October 1917, so  guess he would have come home before discharge?

The Roman Numeral classification system rates wounds 1-4, 4 being the most serious (you can find this on the Long, Long Trail site.
