Witness at 1842 marriage
« on: Sunday 10 January 21 12:00 GMT (UK) »
Can someone please work out what the first witness's name is? At first look I thought it was Shamor or something similar but maybe it could be Thomas. The 's' in Roberts looks like the last letter in the first name.

I've attached a photo but the original is here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G96P-X3QP?i=202

They look like actual signatures rather than registrar entries, so the similarity doesn't really matter.

Looks like James Siptrot to me.

Robertson - Angus

Nedderman - Lancashire
Lane/Fryer - Kent

Witnesses:  Thomas Roberts and James Liptrot.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
