Death certificate for great grandfather
« on: Monday 11 January 21 10:59 GMT (UK) »
I know the potential date of death and cremation date of my great grandfather but do not know the index details such as the vol number or page number, can you still request a death certificate? Thanks

I can’t find any information on freebmd and I can’t search for 1970 on the GRO website

You can order it on the GRO website but it will be £14

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/app_ew_death_la.asp?APPLICATION_ID=5T6E7381A7IA95C12C794IY4DXYM57C4AXH

Freebmd does have some deaths for 1970, have you looked to see if any of the same surname have been listed or a surname spelt with the first letters the same.  You could then access the register image on the site and see if you could locate it that way.

I see that you have posted about this before, do you want to give a name, place and date and see if anyone can find it for you

If you would be willing to share his name with us, then we might be able to help you further.

His name is John William Makin, his date of birth is 26/11/1907, I believe he died on 27/06/1970. He lived in the Newton Heath area. Thank for your help
