Howard and Christina Chapman both deaths 4 Nov 1968

Anyone help with the cause of deaths of both above at 15 St Agnells Lane, Hemel Hempstead,  I see there are 3 newspaper reports on the police enquiry but I do not have a subscription for newspapers

In addition to the couple , 3  year old Kafilatu Babatunoe , 2 dead canaries and a pet poodle were recovered from the flat . Police stated the gas central heating was on. No cause of death was given in the article I found but the circumstances suggest carbon monoxide poisoning to  me.

Many thanks Christine.   What a tragedy, unfortunately I have another couple of family deaths in the same vein.

A further article in December states that the inquest found that the gas heating had been fitted incorrectly. There should have been three quarter inch gaps under all the doors to allow for air circulation and prevent fumes from building up. ( The heating in the flats was ducted warm air heating  .)
