If it’s important to know whether or where he served in WW2 you could apply to the MoD as he was unmarried & now deceased

Wouldn't I need to know which service he was in?

Sorry - haven't a clue.  What does it say on the Government website?

I received Donald's army service record today and all is revealed. He was a motor mechanic when he joined the RAMC  TA  in February 1939 aged 16 but had added a year on. He became a nursing orderly then in June 1940 joined the regular RAMC as a hygiene assistant and served 22 years to 1962 finishing as staff sergeant  environmental health assistant, after seeing service in India, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan, Malaya, Malta and Tripoli.  Just a pity too late to find anyone who knew him.
