My daughter's partner had Covid in March.  He's had 2 antibody tests since, the last one just before Christmas and he still had antibodies, so it seems the immunity lasts much longer than first thought.  One of my granddaughters tested positive for Covid at Uni in Edinburgh around last October.  She was only ill for a couple of days.  Her housemates (10 of them!) all tested negative, as did her boyfriend and all his housemates.  Whether she has antibodies I don't know as she hasn't had a test to find out.  Where my daughter and her partner live the health authority seems to be asking people to test at random for either antibodies or Covid.  My daughter has been asked to have random Covid tests twice and so far both negative.

Well ... I suppose that is good news, although having to have actually had the infection first takes some of the gloss of it, doesn't it?
The really good news would be if miraculously the virus packed its little bags and departed from this world...
Thanks, though, Roobarb, for a little chink of light.... I think!

They ,well somebody, is / are appealing for men who have recently had  Covid 19 ,to have a blood test for antibodies.
Don’t know why women’s antibodies are not suitable.

That’s good news if some have immunity even if it’s for a short time... there seem to lots of stats coming out about various aspects at the moment... hard to keep up with them all..
Thanks though Roobarb for giving us the link!

ThrelfallYorky, When my son was at Leeds  Uni, Janes Bailey flats, there was an infestation of ants.
They were getting in from trees brushing against the upper windows ,which were full of greenfly, their honeydew was what the ants were after.
They got everywhere ,appeals to the Uni authorities fell on deaf ears so the students took matters into their own hands .
We went to  visit  and took the usual food parcels ,on our way up the stairs we noticed tiny bits of paper ,many .
We asked our son what they were .
.” Eviction notices for the ants “.
In many languages ,just in case,
Ants go home!
Verboden voor mieren.
Interdit pour Les fourmis. etc.
Eventually the trees were cut back and a cleaning process carried out ,it was much better but never really solved.
Corvid19 Go Home .!
The Iranian Embassy siege ,and students chanting “Go home—- “ etc .

Many people would need an approved Long-term Antibody Test to check and can't get one, unless they go private.
 ----------
I've had a CE approved Antibody Blood Test ordered and a Phlebotomist lined up if required.

The Lab and Test Procedure has to be to a set standard.
 ----------
Mrs P got an Antibody Test letter from a University. I looked myself on their website and would have needed a postal invitation.
