I don't want to confuse matters any further but who is this Thomas Harris Pollard?

A Hot Reception
- Thomas Harris Pollard
- aged 59
- journey shoemaker
- charged with stealing 2 quart pots
- from Blue Bull public house, Long Alley, Shoreditch
- witness: Joseph Goulston,
- manager of house for Mrs Day, landlady,
- stated that Pollard was a known customer
- after Pollard left bar the quart pots were missing
- knowing where Pollard lodged, Goulston and his wife went to the property
- and knocked on the door
- Pollard partly open the door and when accused of the theft, denied it
- Goulston's wife ran down stairs to find a police constable when
- a window was opened and something fell to the court
- Goulston's wife and the police constable returned with a frying pan and
- cake of pewter in it, which Goulston believed to be his pots
- witness: Constable Slaughter, 411 A division, stated he found
- portions of another pot in Pollard's room, marked "T.M.K." and
- melted pewter on carpet and window ledge
- Pollard pleaded his innocence and was remanded for trial
EDIT:
Story is covered in other newspapers and dates. The London Evening Standard (17 Jan 1865) states Pollard was aged 57, a bootmaker, address Leg Alley. And that he was found guilty, sentence deferred.
