Dinah Doughty b 1821
« on: Saturday 16 January 21 18:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Don't know if anyone will be able to help me with a puzzle in my family history,
In the 1901 census for my Great Grandfather Thomas Doughty born 1849 In Bishops Tachbrook and his wife Mary Ann (Nee Pickerill (Or Pickering) there is a person listed as Aunt and she was single.
Her name was Dinah Doughty born Birch Hill, Staffordshire c1821. I had not had any mention of this person on any other census listing. Really is puzzling me. Hopefully someone may be able to enlighten me as to who this person might be.

Hi Louisa
Yes I have gone back and searched to the best of my ability but even tried different variants but this is the only mention of her that I can find.

Thomas Doughty born 1849 In Bishops Tachbrook

If she was his Aunt then she would be a sister of his father so have you Thomas' father details to check his siblings?

Death for a Dinah Doughty age 78 in Warminster in 1904 on free bmd?

She looks like a married Dinah living in Wiltshire with William, though not immediately obvious there in 1901.

Added:
Yes, scrub her, found in 1901, IGNORE that death.

Birchills, Staffordshire has a St Andrews Church, not built until 1884, not yet worked out where she might have been baptised.

Not found a will for her.

If she was  80 on 1901 there doesn't seem to be a death that fits from 1901 onwards, she is difficult to find , spent a long time at the crack of dawn but to no avail
I am also assuming she was the sister of Thomas born 1821, by 1841 she cold have been anywhere old enough to be in service somewhere
Where was Thomas on 1911?
