brand new to this, so please bear with me.
I am looking for the parents of Michael Harrigan, who I believe was born in 1830/31 in Limerick. He died of TB around 1916 (in his eighties) in Carrick-on-Suir Workhouse.
Michael Married Ellen O'Donnell (seemingly interchangeable without the O') who was born in 1841/42 and died aged 50 of 'severe bronchitis'.
The two of them had a number of children, including: Patrick, Thomas Frances, Timothy, Peter, James, Michael and John. All appear to have been born in Carrick-on-Suir.
I have been able to find records for both deaths, and the births of (at least some) of their children, but no records for their own births.
I'm looking for any tips on finding the parents of Ellen and Michael. I understand that Ellen and her family may have used the surname Donnell interchangeably, but it also appear that Michael et al. may have spelt Harrigan as 'Hourighan'or 'Horrigan' at times also.
Any tips, advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
