<<Comparing  other family trees, so far i have a James Chapman b. 1717 m. 24/5/1747 St. Cuthbert's Church, Edinburgh to Margaret Bell b.1717.>>
Where did you or they find that marriage record? There's no such in ScotlandsPeople Index (or IGI).

My James Chapman & Mary Bell married 20 May 1744 St Cuthberts. Mary Bell was born 15-4-1717 Corstorphine, as you yourself have cited (although you've also called her Margaret). Both those events can be found via ScotlandsPeople.

<<James father also called James born 25/5/1692 at Kettle, Fife, wife unknown.>>
Interesting. What's the evidence that this James who was born in 1692 had a son born 1717 and who then married 1747 (or 1744)?

I cited the one known local James Chapman born 1717 (another was born in Oyne, Aberdeenshire) but I've shown that his father couldn't have been born in 1692, because he married in 1703.

Seems to me that these 'other family trees' have been indulging in guesswork and/or hopework. But if there is real evidence, I'd be delighted to check it out.
