Good morning, my name is Paul from the Wirral. I a looking for information about my 3rd Great Grandfather Alexander Maitland. On the 1881 census he was living (and died) in Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford. He was a Bookbinder by trade. He died in 1888 not found a will or were he was buried.

Found this in 1889:
Maitland, Alexander
2 November.  The Confirmation of the Commissariot of Aberdeenshire dated 24 October 1889 of Mrs. Margaret Cooper or Maitland the Relict of Pitmachie in the parish of Oyne James Maitland Merchant Inverurie  the son William Bessit the Younger Merchant of 102 Crown Street Aberdeen and William Smith Advocate in Aberdeen as Executors Nominate of Alexander Maitland Merchant of Pitmachie who died at Pitmachie 22 August 1889. Sealed

Clearly, if this is your man, he had assets in both England and Scotland.
Looks like the will was proved in Scotland, and sealed in England?

A copy of the will might give further information.

Found a Burial record for Alexander. 25th April 1888 at All Saints and St John. He was living in what looks like Davies Street?
