Looking for Father of David Ramsay B 1587 Mother Margaret Douglas 1567-1615.

Cannot find father of David Ramsay b 1587 no death date, Mother Margaret Douglas 1567-1615 Gone crosseyed looking at births, marriages etc. I found a George Ramsay (first earl of Dalhousie)  1569-1629 & Margaret Douglas1572-1629 married 1593 and no David listed among the kids so this isn't right. Apart from that I've come up empty. Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas.

Where did you find the information that you already have?  How do you know your David's birth date and his mother's name?  I find it significant that looking through the line of the Earls of Dalhousie there is no male called David.

As I noted the earls family is not the one it doesn’t fit.  As you noted there is no David in there. All my information comes from my heritage or family search. Unfortunately the farther back that you go the information gets sparser.

Unfortunately a great deal of what appears on those sites is wildly incorrect. What's the earliest Ramsay you have traced back to with absolute certainty, having seen the original documents?

Probably fifeshire in Scotland.david married Katherine Inglis born in Dysart Fifeshire circa 1591.son of union James Ramsay born nov 14 1619 in Kinghorn Fife
