Sophia Amelia Outram 1802-
« on: Wednesday 20 January 21 22:11 GMT (UK) »
I would appreciate any help in finding the marriage of Sophia Amelia Outram, who was born 25 August 1802 and baptised 02 January 1803 (daughter of William Outram and Mary Budd) at St Mary, Bromley St Leonard, Middlesex.  I think she married Thomas Newman in West Ham, Essex, or possibly Bromley during or before 1821.

Can't find a marriage so far - what was her father's name please?

Do you have her on census with Thomas Newman?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos

She was the daughter of William Outram and Mary Budd.  I think she with Thomas Newman in South Street, West Ham, in the 1841 England Census, at 17 Waterworks Row, Stratford, Essex in the 1851 England Census, and at 10 Henry Street, Bromley St Leonard, London, in the 1871 England Census.

There is a William Newman registered West Ham 1839 with mothers maiden name as Outram
also Ann registered 1842 with same mothers maiden name.

I could not find Sophia and Thomas is before civil registration

There are indexes on ancestry that give baptism for both Thomas and Sophia Amelia Newman at St John in Stratford.
You will need someone with access to Seax to get the details

It's a strange one. Ages seem to have been rounded down as far as to 5.
So we have Sophia, William, and Thos Newman, all aged 5
And a Wm, 3 months

In 1851 Thomas is 16, William is 14, Ann, 11, Sophia, 9

All a bit confusing.
