Trouble reading marriage place.
« on: Wednesday 20 January 21 22:35 GMT (UK) »
I have attached a copy of the marriage of John Grant and Elspet Murray on 15.9.1796 in the parish of Abernethy and Kincardine.  Could anyone tell me where John Grant was from?  Am I right in thinking it was Backharn?  If so, where was this?
Many thanks for any assistance

Looks like BACKHARN - if so it's on the outskirts of Nethybridge:

Sorry for the delay in replying.  Thank you very much for your confirmation of the place name and for the website which I found most interesting.
