Francis Catton - ca. 1720 - Troston
« on: Saturday 23 January 21 16:14 GMT (UK) »
Afternoon,

I am looking at my husband's tree and his 7x Gt Grandfather was Francis Catton.

Francis lived in Troston, Suffolk and, according to his marriage license, was born in about 1720.

He was married twice - first in 1742 to Susanna Whaites and then in 1745 to Mary Fuller.

He had the following children in Troston:

Francis 1745 (with Susanna)

Thomas 1746 (with Mary)
Mary 1748
Elizabeth 1750
Thomas 1753
Susanna 1755
Charles 1758 (direct ancestor)
William 1760
John 1763
James 1765
Isaac 1768

I would like to get further back with Francis.  If anyone could find parents for him, I'd be very grateful!

Many thanks,
Emma

There is a tree online that shows Francis's Father as John, but it doesn't say where this information comes from! Looking on Family Search there was a John Catton baptised 20/11/1698 at Ixworth, Suffolk, with Mother Mary-no Father mentioned. Not sure if this helps or not! More research needed.
Regards.

More research needed as you say, but potentially a pointer in the right direction! Thank you for taking the time to reply.
