I am still looking into the oldest people from the North East
Is this some sort of project?

Sarah

Yes you could say that. As well as genealogy I am also interested in gerontology, and I was wondering who the oldest people were from the North East of England. There was nowhere to find this information easily so I took it upon myself to do my own research!

I am just focussing on my immediate region at the moment, Tyne and Wear (Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland) but will eventually expand to the entire North East hopefully.

Maybe make contact with Dr Andrew Holmes.

He is responsible for this and the people on his list are generally well-documented. He may be able to help

Thanks very much for suggesting this.

Luckily I have been aware of Dr Holmes for quite a while and have been in contact several times over the years! His website is amazing, as is his other one, the European Supercentenarian Project.
