Thank you so much Osprey and CaroleW for your hard work on this.  I've been knotting myself up all afternoon trying to sort it out.

So, the father of my Daniel Rogers b.1845/7 isn't Richard Rogers, but in fact someone called Thomas Rogers?  I still haven't been able to find a baptism or registration of Daniel's birth anywhere - Only reference I can find is in the census forms.

When I searched on GRO for Rogers' births with a mmn Kendrick between 1840 and 1865, registered Wrexham, I got -
Jane 1841, Henry 1843, Elizabeth 1844, Edward 1848, Edward 1852, Peter 1859, John Phineas 1859, Catherine 1861 and Peter 1863.  So I can see my Elizabeth, and John Phineas, but no sign of Daniel or Llewellyn.  Any suggestions why ?

there's another Rogers/Kendrick marriage which accounts for some of the children.

28 Sept 1840 Parish church of Wrexham
Thomas Rogers full bach collier Brymbo father William Rogers collier
Sarah Kenrick full spinster cottager Brymbo father Edward Kenrick engineer
witnesses Azariah James & Ellen Jones, only Azariah signed, the others all marked.

Baptisms to Thomas & Sarah in Brymbo
Jane 17 June 1841
Henry 8 Oct 1843
Catherine 15 Mar 1846
Edward 28 Feb 1848
Edward 24 Oct 1852
Peter 25 Dec 1859
Catherine 28 July 1861
Peter 15 Nov 1863

No baptisms showing for children born to Thomas & Mary Ann or Richard & Mary Ann, so baptised in a church whose records aren't online, non-conformist or not baptised.

Birth reg
Llewelyn Rogers june qtr 1862 Wrexham vol 11b pg 367 mmn Kenrick

No surprise in not finding one for 1846, it's still early days for civil registration.

From the marriage entry, your Thomas was son of Daniel. Baptism in Wrexham 12 April 1816 Thomas son of Daniel Rogers, collier, and Margaret. So the death of the 31 year old would appear to be his and no parish burial.

marriage 8 April 1809 at Wrexham for Daniel Rogers, collier, Brymbo and Margaret Roberts, Minera, witnesses John Jones & Elizabeth Williams, all marked.

Daniel doesn't seem to have survived until the 1851 census and 1841 is missing for the area.

Thanks again for your help.  I don’t think I would have ever sorted this family out. Two marriages for a mother are difficult to follow, especially when she marries men with the same surname!

A  Richard Rogers was buried at Wern aged 68 on 22 January 1889.
Probate confirms he died at Nant Mill, he was a butcher, a widower and his son John was also a butcher.

Is this family yours.?
There are lots of mentions of Richard and Mary Ann in Welsh newspapers,  in some he is referred to as in Gwersyllt.
Same as the family you first found.
