Alexander McKirdy
« on: Wednesday 27 January 21 16:34 GMT (UK) »
I’m trying to find information on Alexander McKirdy, possibly born late 1700s in Bute Scotland. He was married to Mary McFie and dead by 1839. He was a seaman. I was also looking for any information on their wedding date.

Thank you for your replies. The 1841 Bute census maybe correct, I already have that from Scotland’s People which I access a lot. He is in Male Head of House in 1838 and dead by the 1839 one. As I’m unsure of his mother or father it’s difficult to find a correct answer to what happened to him. Maybe he died at sea? His wife lived till she was 90.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
