Crathorne parish query

I have traced a Samuel Maxwell from County Down, Ireland to Crathorne parish where in 1775 he married Jane Holyman of the said parish.

Was this an area where Irish people settled or was there work for immigrants in the region?

I don't think they had any children in the area so not sure if they stayed in the parish.
