Ggggrandfather was John Nightingale who married Jane Stiles in 1797 in Hawkhurst on the Kent Sussex border. He was a farmer.My ggrandfather John was born in 1800 in Sandhurst Kent .I think he married twice once to a Harriet Mills and in 1842 to an Ann Leighton in Hawkhurst. He lived most of his life after this in East Sussex where he was a farmer.Has anyone any information on the earlier Nightingales ?I am also trying to find out when he died. Hes on the 1881 and not the 1891.
