Brickwall- John Snee b. 1832/1833 from Gateshead

Hi, I'm having trouble tracing the ancestry of John Snee, who was born around 1832/1833 in Carlisle- he resided in Gateshead from an early age, and then married Rosanna Smith (who died at a young age). They had a number of children prior to her death; John remarried not long after she passed away and had more children with his second wife, Bridget Hunt. I think that John's parents are John and Bridget Snee from Ireland (according to Census records from 1851) however another path links to a Michael Snee from Ireland possibly being his Father. I haven't been able to trace John's birth records at all, or trace his parentage/Irish roots.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I would think your best starting point would be to obtain one (or both) of his marriage certificates to see who he said his father was.

The 1851 Census has John and Bridget with John, born Carlisle.

The newspaper, Carlisle Patriot, 5 Jan 1833, carries an article about the theft of a watch" the property of John Snee, of Carlisle". Bridget Snee, of Water's Buildings, Carlisle, gave evidence in which she describes her husband  going from home and leaving the watch in the house.

The death of a John Snee, age 56, was registered Gateshead, Sep Qtr 1857 - after the 1854 marriage. Bridget is a widow on the '61 Census.
If the John that married Rosanna is the son of John/Bridget there's every likelihood the father's details will appear on the '54 marriage cert. Not always present (death/illegitimacy)

I received a copy of John and Rosanna’s wedding certificate today- see below. I’m disappointed that there wasn’t more information regarding his parents. Wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get hold of birth records prior to 1835- I’ve tried searching various sites for church records in the Carlisle district with no luck..

The Catholic Church that he was married in and perhaps had children baptised might have more information than what was required on the certificate.  Sometimes written in margins.

John Snee buried Gateshead East Cemetery 4 Jan 1905, lived 16 Easton Court and was age 72, labourer

Nothing obvious on line for Johns Baptism.

But the M/C you have posted has Ann Slee as a witness.
Likely the Sister born 1838 from 1851 Census
As quoted earlier by Colc;
In 1891 he is a Boarder in Chollerton, Northumberland, age 58
There is another Boarder Edward age 55 born Preston, Northumberland (Widower)

Edward is on the 1851 Census also
F/S has the Marriage of Edward 25 Aug 1856, Newcastle upon Tyne,
