Ww2 identification arm bands

I thought someone on here might know the answer of where to look
To help Kristian N who says

"One of my most treasured possessions is an armband with a pink triangle on it. I bought it/saved it from a man who had a collection of Nazi memorabilia and had it for the wrong reasons. I always wondered if there was a way to identify who it belonged to and their fate from the markings and stamp on the band. It is a great learning tool because so many people are unaware of how many different arm bands there were. "


Weren't the pink triangle s used to identify homosexual people ?

". . The thing that strikes me the most about the arm band is how intricately it is sewn. I make quilts and I always appreciate someone’s attention to detail. The arm band has perfect seams and appliqué. I can’t imagine that they would have been mass produced by some large machine but rather made by forced labor.  So seeing the perfection in their technique Is humbling as well as the fact that someone had to wear that to identify themselves."

Ive been told that a letter was sewn inside each triangle for non germans which represented the country or town that the wearer came from.

I wonder how rare it is to find something like this .
