Unknown boy probably taken in Lanarkshire
« on: Saturday 30 January 21 11:48 GMT (UK) »
This photo was among my late aunt's family photos. It was probably taken in Lanarkshire.  The image measures 1x1.25 inches and the mount measures 2.4x2.8 inches.
I would be grateful for help with restoration and a possible date when it was taken in order to decide if it might be my grandfather as a boy.  I need help with the uniform too but perhaps I should enquire elsewhere about that?
Smellie from Gartshore to New Monkland;  Sneddon from Polmont to New Monkland;  Lumsden, Bo'ness to Lanarkshire;  Black, McCallum, Wotherspoon at New Monkland;  Fyfe at  Cambuslang;  Currie, Hamilton on Arran; Gilchrist, Brown, Campbell on Islay

Wonderful photo, and beautiful restore McGroger.  :)

Alys, do you have any other photos of your grandfather when he was older? If you could post some we may be able to offer our opinions on any resemblance.

Another one dated  circa 1914

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01q9b/

so range of 1901 -1914+

add - the border/mount is reminiscent of the Art Nouveau style - so  1890s - 1910 ish  :-\
