Hello Halpins I am trying to find out any information about Thomas Halpin born between 1853 to 1855 in Kilrush Co Clare . He moved across to England and went on to have a family who were raised in Bootle nr Liverpool England

Is it going backwards to Ireland you are most interested in or his family in England?

Would this be him in Bootle in 1891 census

The marriage certificate would be a good place to start as that should have the name and occupation of his father.

This looks like it could be the right one in Dec 1885 Liverpool

Although first child in 1891 census John C was born before that so maybe Thomas was married before :-\

Daughter Ellen Christina born Jun 1889 has mothers maiden name Conway.

John Charles Halpin has mothers maiden name Stewart and there is a baptism 9 Dec 1883 with father Thomas Halpin and mother Christina Stewart. 

Maybe they married in Ireland?

You can order copies of certificates from the General Register Office site. 

I've no experience in certificates from Ireland only England and Wales but there are links on the site to show you where to go.

If you wish to order a copy of the marriage you will need the following information

Thanks Milliepede ...tHow did you access the on line  marriage record of Thomas and Mary Ellen Conway and the baptism record for John Charles Halpin .?
.. I found one list but it was from a library in Co Clare and it was A to G only
