Greenock cemetery lookup McKirdy
« on: Sunday 31 January 21 01:43 GMT (UK) »
Alexander McKirdy is recorded as being interred in Greenock's Inverkip Street cemetery, but there is no date.  The inscription is :Alexander McKirdy, porter and his heirs, No 192. Can anyone do a look up for more information please.  I suspect he was a cholera victim in 1832, but need more information.

albeit says carpenter, not porter.

Thanks for doing the lookup everybody.  I know of the one in Largs and he keeps popping up -  haven't ruled him out yet, but there are a lot of Alexander McKirdys and I'm tryin to identify mine.  I was hoping there might be more information about his one. I thought he'd be the man who died of cholera but I'd love some family details.  I've never found him on Scotlands People but I think many of the 1000 who died of cholera were buried in a mass grave.

Thanks for your help.
