1950s it is more likely to be in a municipal cemetery and they are local council run, some have the burial/cremation records book at the grave yard although also a master copy with the council.
Later 1970s my dad was taken ill and into hospital, transfered to another hospial in another county and died there so his death is registered in another county he had no connection to, he was returned to the county we lived in and cremated but the crematorium was the opposite side of the city and over the border into another county so nearly 40 miles away from his actual home, so his burial/cremation is recorded in yet another county he had no connection to........... I would suspect this is a possible scenario, so might be worth you checking the map and checking other counties that surround the potental place she lived....it is also worth looking at directories of where any close relation was living as that may be where there are burial/cremation records
