Help dating this photo please Parsons or maybe Pink

Could someone help with dating this photo please?

I initially thought it was late Victorian/early Edwardian but am having second thoughts and now think it could possibly be the 1870s. I have know idea who it is but was with a lot of other family photos on my Dad's paternal side, so it could be (if it is the 1870s) either of my 2x Great Grandmothers, Laura Parsons (nee Wilkins) or Arabella Pink (nee West).

It could be late 1860s and into the 1870s.

Is there any chance of seeing the full image and the back, please?

I would favour the earlier decades too.  Nice looking lady.

Unfortunately that is the whole of the image. It's on very thin and faded paper about 5cm by 9cm so I'm guessing it was a photo of a photo at some time. Nothing on the back. I managed to improve the image in photoshop.

I'd go for the late 1860s/early 1870s then.

I agree with Gadget, it has an American look about it...the dress I thought looked late 1860s but the hairstyle looks more 1870s.

Thanks for the replies, there seems to be a consensus, which would make this the oldest photo I have of this side of the family, if indeed it is my family. The American angle is interesting, we did have ancestors who emigrated but I would need to do more research.
