Ancestry Thrulines - mother not showing
« on: Tuesday 02 February 21 10:51 GMT (UK) »
... but all her ancestors are.  All my direct ancestors are showing apart from my dear Mum who was the one who got me started on our history. Her entry in my tree seems no different from the others but she seems to be left out for some unknown reason.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem, please?

I have no idea gadget.  I checked my sons and I am there so it can’t be that she is marked still alive.  I am fighting with them about the difference between biological and step relationships so that side is blank at the moment until I find out which of five sons is my biological grandfather.

I've just changed  the parentage for one of my wife's GGMs having discovered that was the daughter of someone we had thought was an elder sister. This throws up some funny issues in Thrulines

I've not done anything to my tree since I put it up as it's only there for common ancestors and Thrulines.  All her direct ancestors are there but she's not.  My father is there with his line.

I've compared both of them to see if my mother's record is any different from my father's but I can't see anything.

An update in case anyone has the same problem:

I messaged Ancestry and was told that it was because that I'd made both my parents Private and the software seemed to only allow for one 'private' parent. I gave both of them names!! and Mum appeared yesterday!

Something odd there, I thought all living people were private by default?

Nothing odd at all. It's just the daft way that Thrulines works.
Sadly, my parents both died many years ago. I hadn't named them for security reasons. I've not given them their real names.  The tree is private/searchable   ;D
