trying to find out where Michael was born and if any of you clever people know what year he came to England and where he lived .
I know that he married in 1940 and was a miner .

Did he marry in Ashby de la Zouch?

Do you have the marriage certificate - that would give his father’s name.
If he married in a Catholic Church, the parish record might give details of his origins.

The death index shows his d o b as 29th August 1913.

There isn't really enough information to pin this Michael down.  There are five 1940 marriages that are plain Michael and one Michael J.  Three SQ and three DQ.

I had a look at the Irish marriages of which there appeared to be only four.  None of them had an occupation of miner and, apart from one whose age was 58, all were stated to be of full age.  Michael would be about 27 in 1940.

There is a Michael Reilly in the 1939 and his birth date is one day out, otherwise the month and year are the same as on the death record.  He is in Birmingham.

Yes he did marry in Ashby de la Zouch
was married to Eunice Mable Waltham  in 1940. I have not got the m/c
As far as I can find out they lived around Ibstock in Leicestershire
Will keep trying any help will be gratefully received
