Sarah Durrant c1700s
« on: Wednesday 03 February 21 21:13 GMT (UK) »
I'm hoping somehone can help me. I'm looking for a christening for a Sarah Durrant [or possibly Darrant] in the Edenbridge area of Kent sometime in the 1700s.

Sarah married John Winter at Edenbridge in 1721. He was born in Cheveing in 1691 so Sarah may also have been from around there.

The only Sarah I've found so far was christened in Hawkhurst in 1703 but this seems to be about 35 miles from Edenbridge which seems a bit far.

Can anyone offer any ideas?

Many thanks
Matt

There is a baptism for a Sarah Durrant on FreeREG 5/5/1697 St Mary Magdalene Church, Great Bursted-about 40 miles from Edenbridge, Father Samuell, Mother Sarah. I guess she could have been working there at the time of her marriage.
Regards.
