Have come to a halt in my family tree ........would be of help to find an exact date of marriage of William Ferry and Mary Hurst their son Henry James married Mary Hearling sept 11 1900 in Auckland New Zealand.  i believe William and Mary returned to england but im not sure as there are no death records in New Zealand. Would also like to know who  williams father and grandfather was, at moment i have william married to anne atkins and grandfather george married to charlotte banks but i am not sure. The marriage cert belonging to henry james says that william was an engineer from portsmouth (handwriting difficult to read). was william an engineer and for whom, any exact bithdate for william and perhaps who ere his parents and grandparents....any info much appreciated

i would say william ferry was born around 1930s as his son henry was about 1863-5

There is no marriage in England for a William Ferry & Mary Hurst.  However - you also say William was married to Anne Atkins??

Only 2 Henry James Ferry births on freebmd - 1879 Shoreditch & 1880 West Ham.  There is a Henry Joseph in 1857 West Ham

There is a tree on Ancestry showing him married to Mary Millar in 1900.  You may want to consider contacting the tree owner or having a look at the tree

i have the marriage cert of henry james ferry (1900) which says he is 37, died dec 12 1940 in new zealand and yes proffession says he was a bootmaker and birthplace portsmouth ........

Mr. Henry James Ferry, of Norton Road, Frankton, died yesterday at the age of 84. Born in London, Mr. Ferry came to New Zealand as a youth. He went to the Canterbury district and farmed there for some time. In 1880, he moved to Auckland and later again took up farming in the Thames Valley. He has lived in retirement in Hamilton since 1931. Mr. Ferry is survived by six sons and two daughters'

i dont know his exact birthdate or sited a birth cert .......his parents are definetley william and mary anne ferry..........for henry i am looking for an exact birthdate.
for william his father i only know (as listed in that 1900 marriage cert) that he was married to mary anne hurst and his job was an engineer....would like a birthdate/ deathdate and or a marriage cert of him and mary or info. williams father i believe was william also but i have no backup evidence

1. there are two williams  .....father and son. ....the sonwas married to mary (hurst),
 the father william married to anne (born atkins)

2.i have the details of my greatgrandfather henry james ferry who died in 1940 but not the exact
   birthdate, it says on marriage cert birthplace was portsmouth which i think is near london.
3. in the marriage cert dated sept 11th 1900 henry james was 37 and mary hearling 29
4.yeah like other people stuck on finding concrete info on where william was born

i have marriage info on william to anne atkins - date was dec 9 1800 buriton though have not seen the marriage cert, however the spelling of ferry in my info is ferrey and the anne is ann atkins, they had 2 sons named william. 27 sept 1801 (buriton) and 15 july 1811 (gosport).

to be honest im not even 100% sure williams parents are william and anne (born atkins) ferry.......it feels like a rabbit hole one after the other ......the key i feel is a birthdate and marriage cert for william and mary anne hurst which should have the info on who the parents were
