I think i may have solved the puzzle of James Brodribb and Mary.

Through another post on the Gloucestershire board i have found that Marys maiden name was Parker and they married in 1881 in Tasmania.

Mary was baptised 9 July 1820 Winterbourne Gloucester to Issac and Mary Parker.

So Mary in 1851 is not related to my Jenkins family.

Thank you for taking the time to help.

thanks for the update. I saw that marriage but dismissed it as it so late on. I think she's in the same household as James in 1841, transcribed as Parkis

Suppose it's better than marrying in haste and repenting at leisure.

Again, thanks for the update.
When I saw the name "Broadrip" on the opening post I thought that's going to pop up in every way, shape and form. For example, after spotting the 12  April 1818, Publow bapt. for James Brodribb, parents Phoebe and James, I also spotted another baptism (transcript only) on FindMyPast -

James Bradford, 12 April 1818, Publow, parents Phoebe and James

That late marriage is an excellent find.

there are earlier children baptised to William & Harriet, father noted as collier, miner or coal miner
29 Jan 1809 George at Newland
29 May 1814 William at Blakeney
13 Oct 1816 Mary (Jenkings) "
18 Oct 1818 John                 "
1 Oct 1820 Rossetta Bream
26 May 1822 Joanna - buried 11 Jan 1823 Parkend

There are some baptisms in the 1830s as well at Parkend, but these are to a different young couple who are on the 1841.

Just spotted this baptism, wonder if there has been a mistranscription
Newland 11 Dec 1825 Richard on of William & Hannah Jenkins
No, just found scan, definitely Hannah and father is a nailer of Clearwell.

Given that relationships aren't given on the 1841, I wonder if Richard is actually a grandson of William & Harriet. There could be a daughter in between George & William that I haven't spotted.
Possible marriage for eldest at Newnham 2 July 1826 of George Jenkins & Harriet George

Thanks,

I does seem strange to me that no fathers are named on Richard and Elizabeths marriage certificate.

I have found 2 more girls Sarah and Harriot  to William and Harriet born 1810 and 1811, I suppose either of these could be the mother of Richard but without any evidence it's hard to say.

This family is a complete nightmare.

Richard Jenkins is my 2x great grandfather too. He seems to be the only child who doesn't  have a baptism but I think they could have been in transit from Forest of Dean to Trevethin then. Father definitely William Jenkins and mother Harriet Griffiths.
